Today was more or less a recovery ride with a bit of climbing thrown into the mix. I headed to the Walmart Bike Path via Highline. The weather is in the 80's. Winds were somewhat turbulent. Mostly from the North West. My MP3 speaker wasn't charged. So, I had to bring out my arm band MP3 player. It worked, but not so great. I don't remember the time I posted to the summit of OTR, but I'm wanting to say that it was no more than average. The GoPro battery was holding its charge at this point, as far as I can remember. I headed east on Highline. When I reached the summit, I pulled over to adjust the volume on the MP3 player. I made my way to the Walmart Bike Path. There were some cyclists and runners. More than usual. Likely due to the holiday. On my way back, I decided to add the Banducci Summit route. I made my way to the base of the climb, put it in a low gear and headed up the wall. I kept it out of the red-zone as best I could. From there, I did no less than moderate tempo to the summit. With some traffic mitigation, as usual. I pulled over at the summit. Took a few moments rest. Checked the GoPro. It was down to 15%. That was enough to get me back to OTR. I headed back down the mountain. I had a headwind on the way down the Banducci Wall. So, it was safe to do a full tuck all the way down. When I arrived at OTR, I pulled over once more to check the GoPro battery. It was stable at 15%. I had to unplug the battery bank and plug it back in. I did that when I was at the Banducci Summit. Worked like a charm. From there, it was mostly fun and games. Concentration wasn't so good today. It felt like there were gremlins on every corner. So, my focus was going in and out. Fortunately, I stuck with my bearings and pulled through. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Gear worked great. Just the mp3 player not being charged was a downer. Nutrition was good. I had no hunger signs. I had about half my Gatorade. No water. Other notes, I saw at least 6 or 7 cyclists today, seeming to be having a good time.
