The weather is cold, but good for a bike ride. I wasn't sure what to wear. I ended up grabbing my jacket. It turned out to be the smart thing to do. The legs felt pretty good to start. I was getting a bit hot going up OTR. I had to unzip my jacket and jersey. As I was around half way up, I was starting to get signs of hunger. A bit light headed. When I reacehd the summit (in average time), I pulled over to feed about 2/3rds of a Cliff Bar. I chugged some Gatorade. Shortly after, I got back on the road. The Banducci wall went well. My right knee was cooperating while out of the saddle. I was able to hold a good tempo to the summit. I made it there in good time, all things considered. After reaching the summit, I pulled over to recoup. I fed the remainder of the Cliff Bar. I allowed my body to relax for a few moments and then headed back down the mountain. Mostly relaxing till I got back home. Concentration was good. Minimal gremlins. Balance and form was good. So far the cleat position seems to be agreeing with my form. Gear worked perfect. Ailments, still some signs of soreness in the right knee. Especially on the down stroke while out of the saddle. Mitigated by favoring the upstroke. Nutrition was a bit off today. Before the ride, I fed a Cliff Bar. I had to feed one more while out on the ride. Otherwise, I drank most of my Gatorade and some water. Other notes, there was one cyclist on his way down from OTR as I was ascending.
