Went on a solo ride today in the afternoon. It was hot, but there was some cloud cover. However the cloud cover didn't last the trip back up the climb. I made it to the top of Woodford-teh in about 10 mins, and that was with head-wind conditions. I cruised the downhill until there was a car behind me, afterwhich I gunned it a little. I let them past at the second kicker at the Loop. The rest of the way was the usual cruising. I felt good up the climb, I did strong tempo and was able to hold it for the most part. I didn't max out at any time though. So I was usually under 160BPM all the way up. Ailments, numbness of the right hand, but it wasn't that bad today. I was thinking maybe it had to do with my walkman arm-band. I played with it a little, shifting the position of the mp3 device. Next time, I'm going to try it a little looser than usual and maybe different parts of the arm. Other ailments, slight soreness of the back, in general. Considering my pace, my back held in there real good. Concentration was in and out. I don't think I can give it a rank. It was unusual that I was able to maintain a sustained high tempo, even with my concentration not being the best. I don't think I could have gone much faster, had my concentration been very good. Balance was good. I labored a little on the way out up the first kicker. Getting out of the saddle just didn't click. The second kicker was better, and so was the return trip. Bike is working well, I've yet to retighten the crank arms, so the slight clicking still persists. Gopro worked flawlessly today. I believe today to be one of my better rides this summer.
