The weather is warmer and I didn't want to do another in-door ride. The wind was headed East, so perfect day to go to Keene. When I got out, it was a bit cold going into the headwind. I was a bit discouraged from not bringing my jacket. I decided to tough it out. It was a bit uncomfortable for the first couple miles. After that, the body warmed up and I felt ok. I cruised the downhill. Stopping two or three times to take photos of the scenery and animals. I put in two digs over the risers. When I reached the summit of the descent, I pulled over to check the FordPass app. The lock feature worked. When I reached the base of Keene, I checked again, and it worked from there too. although, there was only 2 bars of signal. After that, I headed back. The ascent was a treat. The air was cool. I was no longer cold. The wind was in my favor. I kept the tempo steady. But, no less than moderate. I was out of the saddle on the more difficult gradients. In the saddle to relax the legs and recover. The miles went fast. I was in the zone and listening to my music. After the landmarks ticked by, I was feeling better. I didn't experience ailments on this ride. I was constantly checking my wattage. I was doing between 150 to 250 W/kg most of the time. I was a bit surprised that I was putting in some good wattages while in the saddle. I kept my momentum going over the top, not red-lining it too much. From there it was downhill back to home. The return trip was fun. I was doing 35+ MPH most of the way (as I had a tailwind at that point). Concentration was good. Ailments were minimal. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I had about half my Gatorade, no water. Gear worked perfect. No mystery clicks. Other notes, there were a bunch of visitors at the Loop Monument as I was making my way back up the mountain.
