Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Today's weather was hot, but not as much as the previous ride. In the mid to upper 80's. Somewhat cool winds from the North West. I wore the standard kit and one cotton undershirt (base layer). I was sluggish to start. It took me a while to get warmed up. It felt like the heat robbed me of oxygen. Nevertheless, I carried on as I planned. I made it to the end of OTR in average time. I felt good going up the Banducci wall. I was able to hold a solid tempo and a bit of a push over the top. I recovered on the false flat and did moderate tempo, lifting to good tempo in the last half mile or so. I took a breather at the summit and then headed downhill. The downhill was fun and games, practicing my tuck. Reaching over 42 MPH. The trek through the farmlands was the usual boring stuff. Keeping moderate tempo and negotiating traffic. I was able to hold moderate tempo with a slight push over the top of the SS rear entrance. From there, I soft pedaled for a 1/4 mile or so. Then hit the steeper downhill sections. Practicing my tuck, I reached 40+ MPH. I was on average time today, but then again, I didn't care. The heat negated any gains that I made. I then wizzed through SS and made my way out and back. Banducci return was mostly moderate and traffic negotiation. I was more relaxed when I reached Pelliser and into the last few roads through the farmlands. The last climb was mostly good tempo. Pushing over the top. I stopped to refill my bottle. At this point I was thinking to myself, why not add WTR summit, just for a couple extra miles in the leg. And that's what I did. Route 202 was the usual sprint to the left hander, negotiating traffic. OTR was a welcome reprieve. After reaching WTR, I put it into cruise control. The first riser was the worst, as it always is. After making it over that section, I was able to settle into a more comfortable tempo. This was the case to the summit. Once at the summit, I spared no time, turned around and headed home. Concentration was very good, despite the heat playing on the moral. I was in the zone. Ailments consisted of some right hand numbness, neck aches that have been lingering for about 2 weeks or so, and lower back soreness. I was stretching constantly. The soreness never escalated. Balance and form is good, not great today, though. Gear is working great. No mishaps. Other note. I need to start planning for the first tripple. Either I need to wake up early and leave without the usual nap. Or, wait till the heat subsides. All contingent on what the weather does in the next 7 to 10 days. Crossing my fingers that the weather cools off!
