I got up a bit late today from my morning nap. About an hour later than I would have liked. Nevertheless, I got suited up and out for my ride around 11AM. The weather is in the low 80’s, winds from the North West. The legs felt average to start. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I tried to keep it below the red-line going over the top. The Alpine Forest climb went quick. I had a few things to think about. I was in the 150-ish BPM's over the top. I made my way around the backside and then to the summit of Banducci. I took a few moments rest, hydrated, checked the GoPro camera. I made it there in about 52 minutes. The descent was so so. There was traffic behind and I was getting knocked around from the wind. I had to feather the brakes most of the way down. The trek through the farmlands was into a headwind, I tried to keep the tempo steady. I stretched just after reaching the front entrance of SS. I kept the tempo steady going around the back climb. The descent was fun. I made it to the tunnel in about 1:17-ish hours. I cruised through town and then back onto the farmlands. More or less steady tempo and stretching as often as I could. At this point, my left knee was a bit sore, so I was having to stretch more than often and use easier gears. That seemed to help as the pain subsided. I don't recall the time to Boss Hogs, but it was likely in about 1:40 hours + or - a few minutes. When I reached the base of the last climb, I pulled over to swap out the GoPro battery. I kept the tempo moderate on the climb. After reaching the summit, I pulled over to feed. It took about 2 or 3 minutes. Shortly after, I got back on the road. For some reason, the wind turned 180 on this stretch of road. So, I was doing 15 MPH instead of 18 or 20. They added a stop light on Route 202. I'm hoping they'll widen the road. After reaching OTR, I was able to relax a bit and enjoy the downhill. I pushed over Mariposa and shut it down at the top of Weston. Concentration was pretty good. A bit impatient that I got out late. Balance and form was good. Gear worked flawless. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I fed as I should have. Ailments, some left knee soreness in the farmlands, on the return. Stretching and adjusting the tempo helped. Other notes, no other cyclists today.
