It's a wonderful day. Perfect for going to SS. The wind was from the North West. Temperature in the mid / upper 70's. The legs were a bit heavy to start. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, otherwise went as planned. I made it to the summit in about 41 minutes or so. I took a few moments rest, let traffic by and then headed down the mountain. I was playing it safe. The trek to SS was mostly going into a headwind. So, it was a grind. After reaching the front entrance, I took a few moments to rest and then made my way up the backside climb. From there, I headed into town. I put in a good sprint, reaching 37 MPH and near 40 MPH in the tuck. I made it to the tunnel in about 1:05 hours. I zipped through town and headed back on the farmlands. I had a tailwind on the east bound segments. I was doing mostly moderate tempo. I reached boss hogs in about 1:28-ish hours. I stopped at the base of the last climb to swap out the GoPro battery. After that, I headed up the mountain. Route 202 had some traffic mitigation, so I was letting the cars go by before making the left onto OTR. The descent off OTR was mostly fun and games. I stopped once to pet the local horses. From there, I pushed over Mariposa and shut it down after the dig to the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. Minimal gremlins or lapses. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. I had some mild upper right knee soreness once in a while, but didn't escalate. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I drank all of my sport drink and some water. No refilling. Gear worked flawlessly. There were some mystery clicks once in a while. Other notes, I didn't stop to bio today. I saw 3 cyclists. SS was supposed to have a new pickle ball court, but I couldn't spot it as I was passing through town.
