It's starting to warm up. I had lab in the morning. So, no morning nap for me today. After getting back, I had breakfast and then headed out for my ride. The legs were a bit heavy. The heat didn't help. The worst of it was in the first 20 minutes or so. I didn't bother checking the time at the summit of OTR. Likely in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, so I was on alert. After making it to Arosa, I was able to relax a bit. The climb went quick. I think the temperature dropped by a few degrees. I was counting off the landmarks as I went, trying to stay focused. The speed bumps came quick. I kept the tempo going over the top, nearing maximum. I zipped around the backside. Reaching 42 MPH on the downhill. I made way to the Banducci summit. After making it to the summit, I pulled over to recover a bit. I checked the GoPro camera, let traffic by and headed back down the mountain. Descending off the Banducci Wall was mostly safe. I was able to let the wheels roll a bit more than previous rides. The descent off OTR was mostly fun and games. I did the grind up Mariposa and shut it down after the push up Weston.
Concentration was good. Minimal lapses. I was bit impatient to start. When I started to sweat, the focus became clearer. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. The usual hand numbness. Shaking them while in the saddle mitigates that problem. I had some minor right knee soreness here and there that didn't detract much. My right foot was sore in the arch, so I loosened the boas on the shoe and that helped a lot. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I drank most of my sport drink. Gear worked flawless. There was some minor mystery clicks. Usually when I'm out of the saddle grinding. Other notes, I saw one casual cyclist today.
