It’s a typical spring day. In the 60’s, winds from the North West. I wore the standard summer kit. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, so I was on 6 o’clock alert. Things got better when I reached the Alpine Forest. I took my time to settle in, and then stepped it up to moderate tempo. The landmarks went quick. I had my music going and I was guessing the number of songs to reach the summit. It kept me distracted. After reaching the summit of Arosa, I sat up to recover. From there, I headed around the backside and then to the Banducci summit. I reached 41 MPH on the downhill. After reaching the summit, I pulled over to take a few moments rest. I let traffic by and then headed back down the mountain. There was minimal traffic from behind, so I was able to relax. The descent off the Banducci Wall was mostly safe. I was feathering the brakes till I neared the bottom where I let the wheels roll. After making it back to OTR, it was mostly fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa and the dig up Weston where I shut it down when I reached the top.
Concentration was good. Perhaps a bit of impatience here and there. Otherwise, in the zone. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I drank most of my sport drink. Ailments were minimal. I had some slight right knee pain on the first half of the ride. It diminished as the ride went on. Gear worked flawlessly. Perhaps some mystery clicks here and there. Other notes, I saw one recumbent cyclist as I was descending off OTR.
