It seems every cyclist in Manhattan was doing McDowell Creek Road today! Perhaps because it was such a lovely day to do it on, with clear skies, temps around 74° F, and SW winds at about 13 mph gusting to about 19 mph. That latter bit made the outbound ride challenging. My goal was to better my Strava standing on the northbound McDowell Creek segment, so I had to shepherd my energy against the wind. Once I crossed the interstate, I mostly cruised Lower McDowell Creek to the community center on the middle ring. I ate a stroopwafel there, meandered back to the interstate, then had a caffeinated Clif gel before getting down to business. I smashed my PR and took the age group for the segment, so mission accomplished. This ride mirrored last week's in many ways. The distance was the same, the outbound leg was hard (due to hills or wind) and the goal was on the return. Wore the Assos bibs and Sohoku jersey with alpaca socks. The socks were probably overkill, but it has been cool here.

Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
