Today was a recovery day. I did the Buffalo Run. It was exactly what I needed. A sub one hour ride. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. There was a slight tailwind going up Highline, otherwise, no changes. I zipped around the neighborhood and headed back on Highline. As I was riding, I noticed markers on the ground. Apparently, something is going to happen this weekend. If I had to make a guess, I’d say it’s a cross-country bike competition. Some of the markers pointed to gravel or dirt trails. They did this last year. After making it back to OTR, it was mostly fun and games. I kept a steady tempo going over Mariposa and pushed to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. Minimal lapses and no gremlins. Balance and form felt good. Ailments were minimal to none. Just some hand soreness. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I went through most of my sport drink, no water. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, no cyclists today. Perhaps they are getting ready for the weekend event.
