Today was a recovery and prep ride for the weekend Spooktacular ride. I was mostly testing out my kit and to get read on my body's condition. I could tell that I haven't recovered 100% from last Saturday's ride. But I'm on track. I will do this ride on Thursday. The bike is working flawlessly. I bought a velcro strap for the extra bag I will attached on the downtube. It's going to work like a charm. The Komoot navigation app is working like a charm. I made it to the summit of OTR in average time. My right knee was slightly tender in the first 10 or so minutes, but subsided and went away. I am trying to plan the clothing situation. Based on the weather report, it is supposed to be in the mid 50's in the morning at the "CALM" start location. Based on that, I won't likely need a jacket, but will wear a thick base layer and bring extra newspaper just in case. I am going to install new tires and tubes over the next day. I just got a new set in the mail recently. Then the usual stuff, washing the bike, inspection, I will install a new power meter battery.
Concentration was good. Balance and form felt good. Ailments were minimal, just the slight soreness in the right knee that subsided. Gear worked flawlessly. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs or GI soreness. Other notes, no cyclists today.
