Wow. Fantastic day to get out. After taking my morning nap, I managed to get up without snoozing too much. So glad that I got up when I did. The winds were from the North West and modest. Temperature in the low / mid 60's. I wore arms, knees, head cap, a layer of newspaper and a face mask. Turned out to be all that I needed. Perfect day to go to Keene. I wasn't paying much attention to time. The metrics show that I made it in good average time to the summit of the descent. The downhill was enjoyable. I put in two digs on the risers. There was as sizeable crowd at the Loop Monument. I tried gesturing at them because a train was on its way down. There turned out to be two trains that were going to cross paths over the Loop. I made it to the base in good time. After reaching the base, I pulled over to remove my face mask. From there, it was non-stop climbing. I was alternating in and out of the saddle efforts. When I was getting too winded, I let up to recover. My body felt real good. The cool air was invigorating. The land marks went quick. My morale was good. There were three cyclists. One on the way back, that I managed to catch, and two others that I crossed paths going down and up the mountain. I kept my momentum going over the top. I tried not to red-line it for too long. After reaching the summit, I took a few brief moments to recover. I made my way back home and shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. Minimal lapses and no gremlins. Despite the illness of dad, I felt good in the morale. It was a picture perfect day for a ride. Balance and form felt good. Nutrition was good. I went through most of my sport drink, no water. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, there were tons of people at the Loop Monument. The most I've seen in a while.
