Today was a perfect day for riding. Nice and cool, in the upper 60's and clear skies. I planned on doing Willow Springs, and if I felt good, I would do Banducci. Out the door, my legs felt average. I needed a good warmup. By the end of OTR I felt good. I wasn't sure how I was going to respond to the Highline outbound. The winds were favorable for a good time. I did high tempo for most of the way out. I didn't feel great, but I think I got a solid ride in (on that leg). I think I was lacking in balance, and I was constantly having to adjust my position. It may have been partially due to turbulent winds. The return trip was a bit different. I felt better balanced. I did moderate tempo and increased until I reached the end of highline. At that point I felt good, so I decided to add Banducci to the ride. I actually felt quite good going up the wall. No doubt, due to being well warmed up. I did good tempo all the way to the summit. From that point, it was mostly fun and moderate tempo back to home. Ailments weren't too bad. My left leg cramped a bit in the calf, but that lasted for about 1 minute at best. My lower back was a bit sore, stretching fixed that. Hips were a bit sore at times, but easing off the tempo fixed that one. Gear is working well, no complaints there. I forgot to start the gopro when I got out the door, so user fault for that. Other notes, I'm getting my new wheelset tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed that it meets my expectations.
