The weather is great, in the low 70's. Winds from the North West. I wore the standard summer kit. The legs felt pretty good to start. Although, it took a while for my body to get warmed up. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I was riding out of the saddle most of the time. The Arosa climb went quick, with almost no traffic. I increased the intensity to the top of the climb. I was near max when I got there. I zipped around the backside, having fun on the descent. From there, I made my way to the summit of Banducici. I took a few moments to recover. After letting traffic by, I headed back down the mountain. There was some traffic from behind, so I let them by as best I could. Descending off the Banducci Wall was safe. I feathered the brakes on the way down. After that was the climb to the top of Highline. And then around the Buffalo neighborhood. I headed back on Highline and then to OTR for the descent. The descent was enjoyable. I pushed over Mariposa and then back home where I shut it down after the dig to the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. I had minimal lapses, no gremlins to speak of. Perhaps a hint of impatience in the first 30 minutes of the ride. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Some hand soreness here and there. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal and a banana before departing. Gear worked flawlessly. Although, the GPS showed that my Di2 battery was critically low. I checked the indicator lights on the shift levers and the battery charge for the derailleurs. All of which looked good. Will have to keep an eye on things. Perhaps I will ask Garmin or Shimano about this. Other notes, I saw one cyclist with panniers as I was making my way out on Highline.
