Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

I wanted to do a big ride today, regardless of the wind. The wind was going South East today. Temperature in the 50's. I wore the standard kit, arms, knees. The legs felt good from the start. It became apparent that I was going to have a tail wind on the way out. I made my way around OTR and then headed up Banducci. Sure enough, I had a tailwind. So, the climb went quick. I reached the summit in good time. I took a few moments rest and then headed downhill. Practicing my tuck, I exceeded 40MPH, I think on more than one occasion. The wind wasn't turbulent, so it was relatively safe. The trip to SS was a treat. Interesting, the wind reversed as I was about 1/2 to SS. So, I had a headwind going up the rear climb. Again, the downhill was a treat. Reaching 40MPH+. I reached the tunnel in about 55 minutes. I was thinking to myself how much of an advantage I would loose when I start heading into the headwind. I zipped around SS and then headed back. The wind was the same. 1/2 to the Pelliser, the wind reversed. So, from that point, I had a headwind for the remainder of the ride. I was able to hold 15MPH most of the way, into the wind. When I reached Boss Hogs, I was at 1:58-ish hours on the GPS. So, I lost 3 minutes going into the wind. The last climb, the legs were a bit heavy. Having to go uphill and into the headwind didn't help. I kept the tempo steady. No heroics. Just moderate tempo. After reaching the summit, I swapped camera batteries and then headed back. The remainder was Route 202 traffic mitigation, OTR and then Mariposa to home. Concentration was good. Some hints of gremlins out there, but mostly benign. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, some left quad soreness. Mild, at that. Never escalated. Gear worked great. I installed the old GoPro mount to compare footage quality. I've yet to see the footage. Other notes, no other cyclists today. They're doing road-work on Banducci, from Pelliser to SS. I hope they're going to pave a shoulder/bike lane. I think that'd be great!
