It has warmed up a bit. It was in the mid / upper 70's. Wind started from the North West, but turned turbulent. I wore the standard summer kit with a thick base layer. The legs felt a bit heavy to start, but got better quickly. I made it to the top of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, otherwise went as usual. I was near max going over the top. The Alpine Forest climb went quick. The landmarks passed by quickly. I was feeling better in the morale after I reached the speed bumps. I was near max going over the top. I made may way around the backside. I had fun on the downhill, reaching 43 MPH. After making it to the summit of Banducci, I pulled over to recover for a brief moment. I let traffic by and headed back down the mountain. It was safe since there was no traffic from behind. The wind turned turbulent. Pretty much, a 180 since departure. Descending off the Banducci Wall was safe. I feathered the brakes on the way down. From there, I headed to the top of Highline while going into a headwind. I zipped around the Buffalo neighborhood and back to Highline for the return. When I made it back to the top of OTR, I pulled over to feed a Clif Bar. Once finished, I headed back home. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the top of the Weston grind. I shut it down at the top.
Concentration was good, I had few lapses, the morale was good. My patience was mostly in check, although it took till I reached the top of OTR to settle down. No gremlins worth mentioning. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Just the usual hand soreness on the out of the saddle digs. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal and some grapes for breakfast. I fed a Clif Bar and some water during the ride. I drank most of my sport drink. Gear worked flawlessly. I replaced the bottom bracket yesterday and it felt very good! No creaking noises (yet). Pending the next few rides for confirmation. Other notes, no cyclists out there today.
