had lab in the morning. I got back around 8:30-ish AM. I had breakfast and decided to sleep for about 30 minutes. After getting up, I got dressed and headed out the door. It is getting cooler. In the 60’s, winds from the North West. I had to decide what to wear. I wore the standard fall kit. Arms, knees, thick base layer. I decided to leave my headcap at home. Turned out that I didn’t need it. I stashed my extra bottle of water in the mail locker. I then headed to Keene. I made it to the summit of the descent in good average time. I cruised the downhill. No rushing. I made it t to the base in average time. After making it to the base, I headed back without hesitation. The legs took about 5 to 7 minutes to get warmed up. After that, I was able to hold a good tempo for the duration of the climb. I had stuff to think about, the landmarks and music helped too. After each landmark, I was feeling better in the morale. I kept my momentum going over the top. After making it to the summit, I took a few moments to recover o the bike. I headed to the mail locker and grabbed the extra bottle of water and put it in my saddle bag just in case. From there, I headed to OTR. No rushing. I was warmed up, so the climbing legs settled in pretty quick. After making it to the summit, I pulled over to feed a Clif Bar. After feeding, I got back on the road and headed home. The descent was enjoyable. I pushed over Mariposa and make my way back to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I was in the zone most of the time. My patience was in check. I had few lapses and no gremlins worth mentioning. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Just the usual hand soreness and such. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, grapes and a banana for breakfast. I fasted before going to lab today. Gear worked flawlessly. The bottom bracket continues to exhibit creaking noises. I bought a new bottom bracket, pending deliver. I am going to change the chain while I am at it as I have two spares. Other notes, I saw two cyclists as I was nearing the summit of Keene on the return.
