Great day for a ride. The weather was nice and cool. They predicted rain for today, but got it completely wrong. I had planned to go to the Alpine Forest and maybe to Cummings Valley. As soon as I got out the door, the legs felt heavy. I was making my way through OTR and had second thoughts. So, I decided to head out to WS. The wind was from the North West when i departed. As I was making my way out on Highline, I noticed the wind had changed directions. So, I was to have a tailwind on the way back. No complaints here. Either way, I had to go into the wind on the way out and that's no fun. I crossed paths with another cyclist. I think it was Bob. He looked to me as if to say "looks like you're hurting a bit". He was right. There were hints of gremlins as I was heading out, but nothing too detracting. It played with my concentration a bit, so that was the lesser of things on this ride. The legs were still heavy. Even after getting warmed up. At the end of Highline, I turned around and headed back. It was mostly enjoyable. Able to maintain 20 MPH. The miles went by fast. I put in a dig over the top. Pretty much WOT over the last kicker. The downhill was fun. I put it in the big/little and reached nearing 40 MPH. The cars were passing by much slower at this speed. From there it was up to Banducci, to OTR. Mostly fun and games from there. Concentration was average at best. Hints of gremlins, but I held it together. Ailments... I bruised my outer knee earlier today. It was a bit sore to the touch. It made no difference on today's ride. Balance and form felt good. Gear worked great. The bike is giving mystery clicks while out of the saddle. Again, time to adjust things. Other notes. I forgot to bring my inflation kit. I think I forgot it when I headed to SS on the previous ride, as I found the pump on the shelf. Nonetheless, I had no mechanicals. Would have had to call for help, or a nearby gas station.
