The weather continues to rain. Another day for an indoor ride. I put in a good effort on the previous indoor ride, so I decided to back it of a notch. I decided to do a bit of exploring in the London map. It's called the "London 8 in London". It adds some mileage to the London Loop. Towards the end of the ride, the route goes up the Box Hill climb. I was doing in and out of the saddle efforts. Most of the ride was gentle rolling terrain. Mostly false flats until I got to Box Hill. I was trying to keep the W/kg at around 2 to 2.5-ish. Then I made my way to the Box Hill climb. My Halo replay was going. For more than half the ascent, my Halo replay was ahead by less than 10 seconds. I began to think if I could beat it. Sometime after the half way point, I bridged up to it. I was feeling good, so I decided to give it a go. I ended up beating it by a few seconds and consequently posted a 90 day PR. After that effort, I made my way back to the finish. I think it's less than 2 miles from the summit. I put in a good dig through the tunnel riser. I ran out of gears while stomping on the pedals. I was in my small ring when I should have been on the big. Oh well. After that, I made my way back to the start/finish. No heroics getting there. I cooled down for a few minutes and let my HR down gently till it reached 112 BPM and then I hopped off the trainer.
Concentration was good. I kept my patience in check. I was sufficiently in the zone most of the time. Balance and form was pretty good. Although, I can never get the same sensation that I get while riding outdoor. Nevertheless, it was good enough. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, a banana and some grapes for breakfast. After the nap, I had the other half of the banana, some grapes and a couple plantain slices. Ailments were minimal. The hand soreness was in check. The joints and muscles felt good. Gear worked flawlessly, although the trainer glitched for a few seconds as I was climbing Box Hill. It looked like the signal was lost. But, it came back without any more problems. Other notes, I forgot to check the number of riders on the map. The Strava screen captures shows there were over 600 riders on the map.
