The weather is very nice now. In the low 60's. Sunny skies, winds from the North West. A good day to go to the Banducci Summit. It was another day to test the legs. I wore arms, knees, head cap, face mask, thick base layer with newspaper in the jersey. Turned out to be the perfect combination. I made it to the summit of OTR in good time. I stopped to remove my face mask since I was going to get hotter on the next climbing segments. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, so I was watching my six. I was near max going over the top. I recovered on the flats and then finished the remainder of the climb. I had to let traffic by while I was on my way up. It was safe. I was at max when I reached the summit. After stopping I put my face mask back on and headed back. I stopped at the Alpine Forest rear entrance to let traffic by. Then I made my way down. I pulled over at the front Alpine Forest entrance to let traffic by. Then I descended off the Banducci Wall. The wind was cooperative, so I let my brakes go. The descent off OTR was relaxing. No heroics, just smooth pedaling. I pushed over Mariposa and punched to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I had minimal lapses, stuff to think about and no gremlins. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal and a banana breakfast. I had the other half of the banana before departing. Ailments were minimal. The sit bones were cooperative as were the joints and other muscles. I think I want to push the saddle forward just a hint to get the sit bones better situated. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, no cyclists today.
