The weather is very nice now. It’s on the cold side, but mostly sunny skies. Winds from the South East, slightly turbulent. I wore arms, legs, thick base layer, jacket, head cap, and face mask. I tried to get out not so late. The legs felt good to start. I made it to the top of WTR in good time. I cruised the downhill and put in two digs on the risers. After reaching the base, I removed my face mask and then headed back up the mountain. The legs didn't take much to settle in. I was doing in and out of the saddle efforts. The landmarks went by quick. I had stuff to think about and that made things go quicker. There was a slight headwind on the way back, so I had to play the patience game. After the second dip, the morale felt better. I was counting the songs to the next landmark as I was ascending. I reached maximum going over the top. After reaching the summit I took a few moments to let my HR go back down. Then I headed back home. I shut it down after the dig to the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about. The morale was good. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Just the usual hand soreness. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, half a banana and some grapes for breakfast. And, another half a banana and some grapes before departing. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, I want to adjust the saddle a bit more. I haven't decided 100% yet. But, likely forward and slightly tilted up as it felt I was sliding down the saddle that placed my sit bones off center. I saw three cyclists today just as I reached the top of WTR on the way out.
