Today's goal was to make it back to the coast up north from my campsite in Niseko. What I didn't bank on was to wake up to rain! I didn't get the chance to say goodbye to my Canadian friends, they were still in their tents when I left in the morning. The rain wasn't too bad. It stopped after a little bit and turned into more like a mist. The road was only one main road to the coast and it was full of trucks and tunnels, some of which got quite scary. My campsite for the night was a free camping beach. I had hotto motto and set up my tent early to dry. At one point my tent flew off onto the road without me noticing! At the campsite a Japanese man introduced himself to me, he had caught the ferry over to the nearby port. He too was on a bicycle trip. Later he gave me a bucket of tomatoes to eat.
