Well, I ended up spending 9 nights in Sapporo. I discovered that my wheel had broken and I needed a new one. It was cheaper to order one online, get it delivered and spend a few more nights in the city than it was to get it done by a bike shop. So that's what I did, and then I stayed another night because I wasn't ready to leave yet. In Sapporo I went nightclubbing; went to a mock summer festival at a separate hostel for a night; went to a star wars themed bar and then karaoke until long after the sunrise; got interviewed by an influencer; and did lots and lots of editing on the aerobics doco. Now back on the road, I took the opportunity to replace my camera battery that had broken and my sleeping mat that had also been broken for months. It took ages to get through all of the city traffic lights, but I got there in the end. The campsite was on a beach and there were a few foxes running around! At one point I was eating my food in the dark and I looked to my right. There was a fox 2 metres away from me, eyeing down my food. He backed off once I shone a light in his face enough times and yelled at him to go away. Kiiinda wanted to pet him though....
