I got up today, and just didn't feel like riding outdoors. It's cold and windy. So, I opted for an indoor ride. I chose the Watopia Mountain Loop. I had about 1:15 hours to ride, as I had an appointment to make at 2 PM. Getting the gear ready, didn't take much time. I hopped on the trainer, no issues today. I got right into the workout. I wasn't sure how I was going to to do. I was a bit on the lacking side, when i got up. Nevertheless, I made my way to the start of the climb. Sufficiently warmed up. I think I was putting in slightly more wattage than the past two rides on this course. I was putting in over 3 W/kg while out of the saddle. Sitting down, to let the legs recoup and hydrate. There were about 2000 riders today. I was watching the list of riders. I had some music going, and it helped pass the miles. It went reasonably quick. My wattage increased slightly, as the climb progressed. I believe I was doing the numbers in my mind. Trying to figure out the time to the next landmark. As I was nearing the last mile, to the summit, I was surprised to find that I was going to put in a 30 day PR. After summiting, I headed up the bonus climb. Doing between 3 and 3.5 W/kg, most of the time. After reaching the summit, I headed back to town. I was doing the calculations as per the speed I was holding. Trying to figure if I had enough time. I calculated that I had about 10 to 15 minutes to spare. I put in modest dig through the sprint zone. The trainer didn't seem like it was offering enough resistance. Immediately after completing the lap, I began the cool-down phase. It took a few minutes before I stopped. Concentration was good. Gear worked great. Balance was good. Ailments, some soreness in the right foot. I had to loosen the buckle at one point. Other notes, there were between 1000 to 3000 riders today.
