Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

I was reluctant to go for an out-door ride. I had lab earlier today. I ended up doing an in-door workout, using an app I've yet to try, called RGT Cycling. It's like Zwift, but has real-world maps. I did one in Spain. It's about 23KM in length. It covers a lot of mountainous terrain. I was struggling to get the trainer to pair with the app. I ended pairing with my Stages power meter. After about 5 minutes of riding, I noticed that the trainer was in pair mode, using ANT+. I selected it and the trainer came to life. The map was very challenging. Almost like riding up Keene. The realism is very good. In comparison to Zwift, the scenery is very similar, but tailored to realism. The avatar doesn't sit and stand as I do in Zwift. The resistance is very realistic. I'm wanting to say that I used my gears closer to reality, than Zwift. I forgot to start the screen capture, so I recorded the last half of the ride. I was kicking myself in the pants. This just means, I'll have to pay them a visit, again. Thus far, this service is free, for the purposes that I chose. There are other features that require a subscription, AFAIK. I wasn't able to export the metrics, so this entry was manually entered by myself. Pending a response to my inquiry, asking if metrics exporting is possible. Overall, I got a real good workout. The realism gave enough distraction to make the perceived duration much more forgiving. I was planning on riding for just 30 minutes, but kept going. Partially to get video footage, but also to complete the course. After completing the course, the timer just reset. I'm not sure how ride completions are supposed to work? A definite revisit is warranted.
Other notes: I was able to import the ride data and I've updated the log entry.
