The weather is great! In the upper 60's. Winds from the North West. Perfect for Keene n Back. The legs felt good from the start. I made it to the summit of the descent in good time. The downhill was mostly soft pedaling. And, two pushes over the risers. I didn't check my time at the base of the climb. Probably not much better than average. I pulled over, before heading back, to remove my arm warmers. And, the rear derailleur was acting up. I was unsuccessful at adjusting it, so I had to ride it with some skipping gears in the mid cluster. The ascent went real good. I had a generous tail-wind. The HR was much higher than I anticipated. It was in the 160's for a good chunk of the climb. I was wondering if the reading was off. It was constant, and not fluctuating. I was doing high tempo most of the way up. My sides weren't hurting, so I kept the power down, to the summit. I was gassed, when I reached the summit. I was thinking about the TGF. I was thinking that I could complete the ride, with this type of an effort put in. Concentration was good. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, minimal. Gear worked well, with the exception of the rear derailleur that needs adjusting. The Fid-lock I have mounted to the front worked great, holding my arm warmers, on the return. I bought another set for the water bottle bosses. Pending delivery. Nutrition was good. No hunger pains. I drank about 1/3 of my Gatorade. Other notes, I saw two cyclists today, about to summit, as I was beginning the descent.
