The weather has cooled off since yesterday. In the 60's. Strong winds from the North West. Perfect for Keene. The legs felt ok to start. I made it to the top of the descent in good average time. The downhill was mostly soft pedaling. I put in two modest digs on the risers. After reaching the base, I headed back, no stopping. I was wearing my arm warmers, but decided to keep them on, for the remainder of the ride. The ascent went fast. The legs didn't feel great, but not so bad either. I was glad that I had a tail-wind on the way back. The miles went quick. I was listening to my music. I was never in the red zone. At least only for a few moments. I was calculating where I would be at the end of each song. Definitely helped keep the mind in focus. On the way down, there was a guy heading back up. I calculated that he was about 15 minutes ahead of me. Looked to be, just a bit on the heavy side, but was holding a good tempo. It left me wondering if I would bridge up to him. It wasn't to be the case, and I wasn't too surprised. Despite the carrot, that he was, I wasn't trying. I made it to the summit in solid average time. No digs. Concentration was good. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, next to none. Gear worked great. Still some mystery clicks. I think I'll lube the linkages in the rear derailleur to see if that helps. Nutrition was good. No hunger pains. I drank less than 1/2 my Accelerade. I decided to mix 1/2 cup, this time. I think my body responded better this time. Other notes, only one cyclist today. One car at the Loop Monument. I saw two campers, towards the bottom of the mountain. They looked to be relaxing and having lunch.
