I noticed that my knee was sore, yesterday. I'm not sure why. It felt like I bumped into a blunt object. I woke up and was still sore. I was reluctant to go for a ride. I decided to go, anyway. The wind is strong now. So, it wasn't a good day for WS. I was thinking about the Alpine Forest. When I got out, I could hardly ride out of the saddle. I wasn't sure what to make of it. I decided to try and get to the end of OTR. After a mile or two, I decided to just put it in an easy gear and tick the pedals over. I made it to the end of OTR, well over average time. No worries, I wasn't concerned about time, today. I decided to skip the Alpine Forest and head to the summit of Highline. I had a significant tailwind. So, I was able to ride in relative comfort. The downhill was fun. Reaching speeds of about 40 MPH. I decided to ride the new bike path. I rode to the end, and then headed back. When I was headed back, I noticed a police car nearby, as I was crossing an intersection. Apparently, there was a goat that got his head stuck in a wire fence. I watched as he freed it. I was almost about to go and help. But, it looked like he knew what to do. In the end, he freed the goat, and I got back to riding. I kept the same approach. easy gear, riding. The climb up Highline wasn't that bad. I just had to be patient. From there it was the last rise up to Banducci, onto OTR and back home. The knee felt better as the ride progressed. Concentration was good. I was put off, that I couldn't do my planned ride. But was happy to get out, nonetheless. Balance and form was good. Ailments, the left knee. Gear worked perfect. Nutrition was good. No hunger pains. I drank about 1/3 of my sport drink, and some water. Other notes, I saw about 4 or 5 cyclists today.
