It's getting warmer. I was debating on riding in-doors, or out. It was over 80 degrees, according to my smartphone. In the end I decided to ride out-doors. It wasn't that bad. I knew it was going to get hot on the way up. I made it to the top of the descent in good time. The downhill was fun. The air was cool, so the direct sunlight didn't bite so hard, on the skin. I put in two good digs on the risers. Next time, I'm going to put the GPS on the screen with W/kg rating. I calculated that I was putting in, somewhere around 10 W/kg. I made my way to the base and headed back up the mountain. No resting. I tried to pace myself as best I could. I ended up doing medium to high tempo. I was having to get out of the saddle most of the time. Sitting to hydrate and relaxe the muscles. The hands were going numb. Shaking the out fixed that problem. There was another cyclist that looked to be my better. He was on the side of the road. Probably talking photos. I passed him. Taking a glance, he was on his way back up. So, I was a carrot, at that point. No clue what his intentions were. So, my tempo went up, ever so slightly. I kept reminding myself to keep it steady. Don't let the ego take control. I was listening to my music. It helped keep me focused. I ended up reaching the summit in front of the other cyclist. No clue if he stopped. I was at near max, over the top. Concentration was good. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, some hand numbness. Gear worked flawless. Nutrition was good. I had 4 waffles before riding. I was content and had no hunger pains. I went through 3/4 of my sport drink and water. Other notes... When I was descending, in the gauntlet area, there was a train on its way down. I was keeping up with it. It felt real neat. Not sure if it showed up in the video.
