Today's weather was much cooler than the previous ride. There was overcast. There was no direct sunlight coming through the clouds. I think it was in the mid 70's or so. Winds from the south. My legs felt good from the start. The go or no-go was contingent on my saddle soreness. Fortunately, it subsided enough for today's ride. I felt very little discomfort in that respect. I made it to the top of the descent in under 8 minutes. A respectable time considering I wasn't going all out. The descent was a bunch of fun and games. I reached 43MPH+ on the downhill, in one section. That was a thrill. Being that the winds were from the south, I had a modest headwind on the way back up the climb. There were sections where I was sheltered from the wind and was able to recover in those areas. I held a good tempo, but reserved a bit as the wind added to the difficulty of the climb. I did one push over the loop monument, I felt strong and was out of the saddle for most of the climb. Concentration was good for the most part. I went through some cases of the crazies. More embarrassing than anything else. I had to coach myself on some sections, just keeping my focus in the right place. Ailments consisted of sore toes. I desperately need to get new socks. I need some that are 4 or 5 inches above the ankle. Balance and form is coming along nicely, some sensations of awkward positioning. I put my mind where it needed to be in order to hone in on form. Gear is working well, no problems there. Other notes, it was sprinkling as I was climbing. I was hoping that it didn't get any worse. I.E., more rain or lightning. Both of which did not manifest.
