I couldn't get up early today. I was just too tired. I wanted to go for a ride though. I was hoping it wouldn't get too hot and I lucked out. It was in the low 80's, maybe upper 70's with a cool breeze from the North-West. My legs were heavy to start. They warmed up quickly. I was sufficiently warmed up by the time I reached route 202. I felt good going up the Banducci wall. I was well within my limits and I didn't push it too hard over the top. The remainder of the climb was usual business... Recover on the false flat and do tempo up to the summit. I had minimal ailments when I reached the summit, so I decided to do the entire ride. The weather was the same for the entire ride. It was a good day to get out. I held a moderate tempo going out to SS, kept the tempo up over the top. From there, it was fun and games till I reached the exit. From that point, I did moderate tempo. Mostly focusing on my form. When I reached Pelliser, I picked up the tempo slightly. I held this tempo till I reached the last climb. I kept the tempo nice and steady and increased as the climb went on. No pushes over the top. Once I cleared the false flat section, doing high tempo, it was mostly fun and games for the remainder of the ride. My concentration was good for the majority of the ride. I had some things I wanted to spend time thinking about and that helped keep me in the zone. Ailments were minimal. I had some right hand numbness and mild saddle soreness. Balance and form as good today. I really did feel on top of the pedals and equal footing. Gear is working great. No problems there. Other notes, I passed 5 cyclists today, 2 of which were on a tandem.
