I got out about one hour later than I wanted to. Nevertheless, I got out around 11:30-ish. The weather is much cooler now. There's still smoke-haze in the atmosphere. The legs felt ok to start. I made my way up OTR, feeling better by that time. I made it to the summit in good average time. I was keeping track of the climbs that I completed and the ones to be done. Banducci was a bit of traffic mitigation. I was near max, over the top. The remainder went pretty quick. Doing no less than moderate tempo to the summit. When I got there, I pulled over to recoup, took on some hydaration. Checked the GoPro, it was at about 68%. Afterwards, I headed downhill. Definitely a treat. Reaching 40+ MPH. The trek to SS wasn't too bad. I was going into a headwind, but it wasn't significant. When I reached the front entrance, I took some time to stretch. Thinking about the Caliente and Spooketacular ride. I'll have to stretch often. I pulled over to take photos of the local cows. They seemed to be posing. I couldn't resist. I made my way around the backside and then the downhill. Reaching 40 MPH. I made it to the tunnel in about 1:01 hours. From there, it was the quick ride through town. Then back onto Banducci. The farmlands went quick. Aided by the tailwind, at this time. I made it to Boss Hogs in about 1:21-ish hours. So, I only gave up a minute, at most. I arrived at the base of the last climb. I pulled over to raise the saddle by about 1/4 inch or so. It definitely felt better. Not sure if the seat-clamp keeps slipping? I hopped back on the bike and made my way up the climb. I pulled over once to take more photos of the local cows. One of which, was a bull. He got up and didn't seem very happy. I made my way to the summit. No heroics. I just kept my tempo going. I pulled over to swap out the GoPro battery and then got back on the road. Route 202 was a bit of traffic mitigation. I ended up sprinting to OTR. From there it was mostly fun and games. Concentration was good. The morale was a bit on the low side, to start. Likely due to the fact that I got out later than I would have liked. At least, I was well rested. Balance and form was good. The raised saddle feels better. Ailments.. Some mild left knee soreness. It never escalated. I adjusted tempo to mitigate. Gear worked excellent. No dropped chain. I adjusted the front derailleur yesterday. Nutrition was spot on. I consumed most of my Gatorade, and some Water. Other notes, I saw 3 or 4 cyclists today. The fidlock, on the bottle of water came loose, so I had to stop and adjust it.
