They predicted warmer weather today, so I got up earlier. I think I got out about 1.5 hours earlier than last time. The wind was more significant than the other day. It was going North West. So, in a way, it was good for today's route. The legs felt ok to start. I made it to the end of OTR in good average time. I pulled over to raise the saddle height. It felt better, after that. I made my way up the Banducci wall. Trying to keep from red-lining it. I was using all my gears. Arosa was the usual grind. When I reached the mailboxes, there was a lady that needed my assistance. I pulled over to help her. Apparently, there were some chickens that were hiding under her car. I couldn't scare them away, so I advised to toot here car horn. Shortly after, I commenced the climb. in about one minute, she passed me and said that it worked. I smiled and gave her a nod, in agreement. So, I'm getting used to the double speed bumps. I'm taking them in couples, instead of individuals. I was near max when I reached Lemans. I made my way around the backside of the Alpine Forest. The downhill was fun. From there, I headed to the top of Banducci. I took a few moments rest. Hydrated. Checked the GoPro battery. It was at 58%, or so. I had a head-wind on the descent. So, I was consciously checking behind for traffic, so that I could let them through. The Banducci wall was mostly feathering the brakes, and mitigating the cross-wind. Turns out that it wasn't too dangerous. I made my way to WS, via Highline. It was pretty much what I expected. The usual grind into the wind. It was a game of patience. Once I reached WS, I pulled over to feed. I had a nuts and seeds Cliff Bar. If I had to say, the chocolate Cliff Bars went down easier. In the meantime, I was going through my first bottle of Gatorade, and then swapped out the third bottle. I finished eating, then headed back. More of a treat than a chore. I made it back in good time. I pulled over once more, to swap out the GoPro battery. I made my way up the mile climb. It went fast, like I had a third leg, being that the wind was on my back. I wasn't sure what the downhill was going to be like. So, I just continued as normal. I put it in my biggest gear and wound it up. The wind was perfectly on my back. I reached over 40 MPH, but I haven't checked my max speed yet. Definitely set here. From therre, it was up to OTR and then fun and games. Concentration was good. Few lapses. The music helped. Some coaching. And I was glad to get out in better air quality. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some left quad soreness from time to time. It didn't escalate, but was noticeable. I had some mild soreness in the right ab. It wasn't cramping. But maybe my body complaining from the bar that I fed. Because it happened just 10 minutes before. Gear worked great. No issues there. Nutrition was good. I drank most of my provisions without having to ration. Other notes, no other cyclists today.
