Wow. A great ride. I got up today, had breakfast and took a 30 minute nap, but ended up hitting the snooze button for another 30 minutes. I was reluctant to get out of bed, but I managed to drag myself out. I was lucky that it wasn't too hot. It was in the 80's with winds from the north west. I wore the standard kit. Before I left, I noticed that the seat height was low and was misaligned, rotationally. I adjusted the seat and headed out the door. It was apparent that the seat was still too high. So, I stopped just after making the right turn onto WTR. I ended up stopping a few more times to dial in the seat position. Once it was set, I continued the downhill to Keene. There were two cyclists ahead and one guy who bridged and past me while I was adjusting my saddle. I cruised the downhill. I did push it a little more than usual, being that there was a cyclist ahead of me. By the time I reached the bottom I had nearly bridged up to him. I did a U'y on the Post office, the other guy U'yed near the freeway entrance. Shortly after, I commenced the climb. It was apparent that I was going to have a good ride. My legs were responding very well. I knew there were 2 other cyclists ahead of me that appeared to be near equal to me in fitness. I think I saw them before, going up Banducci. I would say they were a good 5 minutes ahead. I wasn't sure if I would bridge. I went at my own pace. The tempo was high. My HR was peaking at 165BPM, holding steady around 155-160 for most of the climb. I brought the two cyclists into my view shortly after going over the loop monument. I took my time and didn't complete the bridge until I got around 1 to 2 miles from the summit. I continued my high tempo to the top. After that, I changed the camera mode and the rest was fun and games. Concentration was spot on. Few lapses. Ailments were near to none. Some saddle soreness in the first few miles of the ride. Balance and form was good. The adjusted saddle position seemed to help. Gear is working well, no issues there. Other notes, I saw a total of 7 to 8 cyclists today. A record for the past few months. I got the new 23mm tires today. I'm going to install them later today.
