The weather has let up. It's in the upper 50's. Perfect for a Keene ride. Winds were mild to the North. This was the first out door ride since about 4 or 5 rides ago. The body felt good to start. The bike felt just a bit unfamiliar compared to riding indoors, not requiring much balance. I was back in tune when I reached the summit of the descent. Making it there in good average time. There was some traffic mitigation on the downhill, so I was going a bit faster than normal. I put in two solid digs over the risers. I made it to the base. Didn't bother to check the time. the wind was ideal as it was mild. I was debating to take off layers, but decided to keep them on. Turned out to be the right decision. The ascent went fast. Ticking over the landmarks and not holding back much. I felt pretty strong as there were minimal body aches and able to push to max. I was at maximum going over the Loop Monument. I let up to recover and then settled into a good tempo. I kept the momentum going over the top, nearing maximum once more. I was keeping an eye on the wattage. It felt similar to when on the new smart trainer. Concentration was good. But, a bit impatient and not 100% in the zone. But, good enough. Balance and form felt good. I felt on top of the pedals in and out of the saddle. Gear worked flawless. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I had about half my Gatorade and a sip of water. Other notes. There were some visitors at the Loop Monument while I was on my way down and up. A few motorcyclists past me on the downhill after letting me lead them out for a mile or two.
