Love this spring weather! in the mid 60's. Winds from the north west. I wore the standard kit w/1 base layer. I was able to get up earlier today and get out around 11AM-ish. I felt average going out the door. I cruised it to the end of OTR. I did moderate to good tempo up the Banducci wall. I was going into the wind, so I decided to keep the tempo steady as I was ascending. More or less the same to the summit. I took a 30 second break and then continued the descent. Fun and games, doing my tuck thing. Crossing the farmlands was mostly moderate tempo. Lifting it here and there. Getting out of the saddle when needed. I pushed it over the summit and headed into SS. I reached the tunnel in around 1:20 hrs. Going back on Banducci was mostly moderate to good tempo. Keeping an eye on the traffic all the while. After reaching Pelisser, I put it into cruise control till I reached Boss Hogs in about 1:20 something. I knew I wasn't doing good time and my approach to the ride was on the conservative side. The last effort I made was the last climb. Doing good tempo most of the time. Holding strong over the summit. After reaching Route 202, I had recovered from the effort of the ascent. There was little traffic on Route 202, so I didn't have to dig deep to stay out of trouble. After that, it was more fun and games down OTR. Pushing over Mariposa, and cruising back to home. Concentration was great today. I had it in lockdown. Mostly thinking of some programming stuff. That kept me occupied in the mind, I was in the zone for the majority of the ride. Balance and form felt good. Ailments consisted of some right hand numbness and a hint of sore quads towards the last 4 miles of the ride. Gear is working well. Other notes, my left shoulder and right hand continues to be sore, getting ever so slightly better every day. My weight is down to 143 lbs.
