The weather is changing. It's now on the cool side. Winds from the North West. I chose to go to the Alpine Forest Summit and add a bit more by going down to the Cummings Valley farmlands. The legs felt good to start. I did good time to the summit of OTR. They repaved the Banducci Wall. They did the same type of pavement as they did on near the summit. The Alpine Forest went quick. I had a few things to think about. I made myself around the backside then to the Banducci summit. I rested for a few moments, let traffic by, checked the GoPro camera, hydrated, then headed down the mountain. The pavement is bumpy. It doesn't feel safe to descend faster than 30 MPH. Too bad they had to ruin a perfect stretch of road. As you get to the base of the mountain, they left the shoulder nice and smooth. So that part is ok. They haven't repaved the farmlands, Pellisier and such. Perhaps in good time. I did moderate tempo through the farmlands. Didn't bother checking the time as I passed Boss Hogs. The last climb went well. I was in and out of the saddle trying to maintain my momentum. No digs over the top. I pulled over at the summit to swap out the GoPro battery. I headed back to route 202. I let traffic by twice before making my way to OTR. From there, I was able to relax. It was getting a bit chilly at this time. I did the Mariposa grind then made my way back home to Weston where I shut it down. Concentration was good. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, some soreness in the sit bones. I have slight soreness on the right abs if I bend in a certain way. It's not too detracting, but noticeable. Makes me a bit concerned about my bile ducts. Will take it easy for the next day or two. Nutrition was good. Minimal hunger signs. I had most of my Gatorade, no water. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, I saw 2 cyclists in the neighborhood as I was just departing. I've yet to receive replacement shorts for my Pearl Izumi bibs that I sent back. Sitting in my chair now feels ok. Will have to see what my body does over the next 8 hours or so.
