Today's weather was arond mid to upper 70's. Winds from the North West. I decided to go for a mountain bike ride at the Burnett park. I got out a bit late, but the ride was going to be less than 2 hours. I was able to explore more of the trails. I had a lot of fun. Most of the trails were single track. I found them to be challenging. I was having to dismount many times to get over trails with steep drop offs and dips. I found the fire road that I spotted on the previous ride. Turns out that it goes on for no more than 1/4 mile. Since the last ride, there are now signs posted to help navigate the trails. Most of which inter connect and loop around the mountain side. I did better than the previous time. I was able to throw my body around to negotiate the varying terrain. I was less hesitant. The skills are slowly coming back to me. I found that on the dangerous sections, that by focusing just what is in front helped. The other un-rideable (for the time being) was best to dismount and hike to safety. The bike felt good. The new front tire that I bought seems to be hooking up better on the loose terrain. Aka, better traction. I was able to get the entire ride on video and GPS. The GPS data looks interesting. I can see all the trails I was on. My concentration was better. It is apparent that these kind of rides requires a significant amount of attention to every moment. One lapse and you could find yourself in a spot of danger. No ailments today. Gear is working well, but mis-shifting on the middle gears on the cassette. Other notes, I saw 3 other riders all of which were friendly and looked to be having a good time. I have a feeling I'll be going here on a regular basis. My next excursion will likely be the SS off road trail.
