What a fantastic day to get out. Nice and cool. In the upper 60's. Cool winds from the North West. Perfect for an Alpine Forest ride! The legs felt good to start. I made it to the end of OTR in good time. I had to stop once as the bike was making weird noises. Turns out that I had to jam the rear brake to get it re-aligned. It did the trick and had no problems there after. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, so I wasn't able to settle into a fully concentrated tempo. The Alpine Forest went quick! There was a cross tailwind. The cool dense air felt great! Instant O2! I made my way around the backside and then to the summit of Banducci. I let traffic by, took a few moments, and then headed back down the mountain. I was cautious on the Banducci Wall descent. The return on OTR was fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa and Weston before shutting it down. Concentration was good. Gear held up perfect. Ailments. Some minor hand numbness. I was alternating hand positions while out of the saddle. That seemed to help. That and the cool temperature. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I went through about half my Gatorade. No water. Other notes, there were two walkers on OTR. I silenced one of the fidlock bottles by placing two folded pieces of paper under the magnetic attachment. That seemed to do the trick. The bottle was quiet, pending more test rides.
