Another bad day to ride out-door's, another day good for an in-door ride. I chose the mountain course. This ride was spot on. There was about 10 to 15 minutes of false flat before the climb. This was just enough to get my legs warmed up. the climb was consistent, with few reprieves. My tempo wasn't exactly steady. I was in and out of the saddle. I was trying to avoid getting to far into the red. Out of the saddle, I was around 200 watts. In the saddle about 170ish watts. I did this for the entire climb. I was able to make it to the summit. I'd say it was near equal to Keene n Back. Although the gradient vs effort required wasn't true. The gradient kicked above 12% on a few occasions. Normally, I would be in my smallest gear, out of the saddle, full power. The simulator adjusts the wattage put into the pedals vs actual speed. A little deceiving. Concentration was good for the most part. Some lapses, but not too bad for indoor's. Gear worked great. Ailments consisted of a sore left outer knee. This ailment was present for the past few days. It didn't detract much from my ability to put the power down. Other notes, I setup external speakers and listened to music. Wondering if it was better than having ear buds. I'd say it was.
