The weather is a bit cloudy. In the low 70's. Winds from the North West. Great day to go to Keene. I had breakfast, got ready and then headed out the door. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the summit of the descent in good average time. I cruised the downhill. I was a bit impatient today. For some reason, I couldn't get my mind to settle down. So, I was having to coach my way through today's ride. I put in two digs over the risers. I stopped once to take photos of the local train at the Loop Monument. I made it to the base of the climb in about 27 minutes. I headed back without delay. I stopped once to take video footage of some cows. From there, it was non-stop to the summit. The morale felt better as the climb progressed. I was trying to think of the immediate, and not so much that I had more riding after reaching the summit. I was in and out of the saddle for the duration of the climb. A bit of stretching here and there. I kept the tempo going over the top. After reaching the summit, I took a few moments rest and headed back down. As planned, I added OTR to the ride. The legs were warmed up, so minimal sluggishness to start. I think I made it to the summit in about 1:30 hours. After reaching the summit, I headed back down. The descent was a treat. I pushed over Mariposa and then back home. I shut it down after reaching the top of Weston. Concentration wasn't to good today. I just couldn't settle down in the first half of the ride. It did get better as the ride progressed, though. Ailments were minimal. Some hand soreness while out of the saddle. Gear worked flawless. I had some gaseous sensations in the GI, I passed a bit during the ride. The Garmin watch has a habit of stopping the HR broadcast. Not sure why. Nutrition was good. Minimal hunger signs. I went through most of my Water and a few sips of Gatorade. Other notes, I saw two or three cyclists today.
