I woke up about an hour late (unintentionally). I got up, made a quick breakfast, got ready and headed out the door. It's a bit on the warmer side. Somewhat humid. The legs felt ok to start. Somewhat sluggish here and there. To be expected given the weekend's big ride. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. I was a bit impatient at the start of the climb. The morale felt better when I reached the summit. The Banducci Wall climb had some traffic mitigation, otherwise went as planned. The Alpine Forest climb went quick (perceptually). Before I knew it, I made it to the speed bumps. I was near max over the top. I made my way around the backside. I reached 40 MPH on the downhill dip. After making it to the summit, I pulled over to recover for about a minute. Shortly after, I headed down the mountain. The descent off the Banducci Wall was a treat. Mostly safe and under control. I headed up the Volcano climb and to the Buffalo Run. The legs felt good. I was doing good tempo to the summit. I made my way back to OTR where I had time to relax and enjoy the downhill. I pushed it over Mariposa and then back to Weston where I shut it down going over the top. Concentration was good. Some lapses. Mostly of impatience and such. Balance and form felt good. Gear worked flawless. Ailments, some right hand numbness while grinding out of the saddle. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I went through about half my water and some of the sport drink. Other notes, there was one casual cyclist as I was making my way back on Country Club.
