It cooled off a bit today. I departed around 8:15-ish. The legs felt pretty good to start. The brain was a bit sleepy. I made it to the summit of OTR in good time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I started to play "How for can I go before the next car passes me"? It helped keep me distracted from the effort. After making it to Arosa, I was able to relax for a few moments and then settled into the climbing grind. Mostly out of the saddle on the harder efforts. In the saddle to recover for a few moments and shake the hands when needed. I made it to the speed bumps pretty quick. At least, that's what it feeled like. The morale was good. I didn't bother checking the HR at the top of Arosa, but it was likely near max, 150-ish BPM. I made my way around the backside. I reached 40 MPH on the first dip. I headed to the summit of Banducci from there. Once there, I pulled over to recover, let traffic by, and then headed back down the mountain. There was minimal traffic mitigation, so I was mostly relaxed. Descending off the Banducci Wall was safe, so I was able to let the wheels roll. From there, I headed up the Volcano and onto the Buffalo Run. The legs were feeling pretty good. I made my way back to Highline and then to OTR for the return. The OTR descent was mostly fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa, made my way back to Weston and shut it down at the top. Concentration was good. Minimal lapses and minimal gremlins. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Some hand numbness, mitigated by shaking them now and again. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I went through half the sport drink and some water. I had oatmeal and half an English muffin with jam before the ride. The GI cooperated. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, I saw one cyclist today.
