Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Well, today was a big one for me. I decided to up the ante and go to three places, in preparation for the Spooktacular Ride. The weather is overcast, in the 70's. It has a somewhat humid sensation to it. I kept that in mind as I don't normally perform as well in this type of weather. The wind was mild, mostly from the North West. I had oatmeal with half a muffin for breakfast.
The legs felt ok to start. I knew right away that it was going to take some warming up. I brought two extra bottles and stashed them in the mail locker for later. The OTR climb went well. The legs didn't complain much. I made it to the summit of OTR in about 26 minutes. So average time.
The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I was within my limits over the top. When I arrived at Arosa, I took a few moments to recover and then settled into a steady tempo for climbing. The miles went relatively quick. I felt better as I made my way through the speedbumps. I was near max over the top, but still had some in reserve. I zipped around the backside and then to the summit of Banducci. I reached 41 MPH on the first dip. After making it to the summit, I pulled over to recover. I let traffic by and then headed down the mountain. I was being somewhat cautious, but not too reserved. From there, it was the trek to SS. The wind was calm, so the miles went quick.
After making it SS, I made my way around the backside and then into town. I decided not to buy any more provisions as I had enough at that point. The return through the farmlands was as usual. Mitigating the potholes and keeping the tempo steady. I stopped once to take a bio.
The CV climb went well. I was managing my efforts the whole time. So, no heroics. I kept my tempo going over the top without mashing the pedals much. When I reached the summit, I pulled over to feed 2/3rds of a Clif Bar. Shortly after, I got back on the road. Route 202 had minimal traffic mitigation, so it was mostly safe. The OTR descent was a treat. It was time to recover and enjoy a bit. From there, I pushed over Mariposa and then to the mail lockers. I grabbed my bottles and headed back on the road.
After making it to the summit of the descent, I pulled over to feed the remainder of the Clif Bar. Shortly after, I headed down the mountain. No stopping. I put in two digs over the risers. I had my new power meter running, so it was neat to see the wattages go up. I stopped once to bio and then headed to the base of the climb. The climb went steady without much heroics. The fatigue was setting in, so I was using lower gears than normal. The landmarks went by relatively quick. The morale felt better as I made it past the second dip. I was in and out of the saddle while climbing. More out than in. After making it to the summit, I was able to relax and breath a sigh of relief. I took a few moments to recover and headed to the mail locker at the same time. I grabbed my stash from the locker and headed back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good for the most part. Minimal lapses. Some gremlins here and there. Balance and form felt good. Ailments were minimal. The usual sensation of fatigue and some hand numbness. Mostly mitigatable. Nutrition was good. I fed one Clif Bar during the last half of the ride. Gear worked well, but I dropped my chain on the inside when I was making my way around the backside of the Alpine Forest. Not sure what that means, but will have to give it a servicing nonetheless. Other notes, I saw 3 cyclists today. it was sprinkling here and there during the last half of the ride. Very minimal and non-detracting.
