I was undecided where to go till about an hour from departure. I decided to head out to WS. The wind conditions were mild when I left. I wore arm coolers and knees. I brought a headcap, but didn't use it. The legs felt good to start. I made it to the end of OTR in good time. From there, I headed out to WS. As was expected, the wind was headed East. I was able to hold good tempo most of the way. Easing up here and there to recover and stretch. After making it to the WS, I headed back without delay. The return trip was into a mild headwind. I was able to hold 15+ MPH most of the time, with the exception of the Dragon Back climb. I decided to add the Banducci summit, so that's where I headed next. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I didn't bother checking my HR going over the top. Likely around 150BPM-ish. After making it to the top of the wall, I recovered a bit and finished the climb. When I reached the summit, I took a few moments to recover and fed a Clif Bar. I let traffic my and then headed back down the mountain. There was some traffic mitigation, so I was keeping an eye on my 6. The descent off the wall was fun. Approaching 39 MPH. The return on OTR was mostly fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa. When I reached the top, I had to replace the GoPro battery. From there, I made it back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston. Concentration was good. The morale was good. There were hints of gremlins going to and from WS... as usual. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Mild hand numbness, mitigated by shaking them in the saddle. Nutrition was good. No hunger sings. I went through most of my Gatorade and some water. I fed a Clif Bar at the top of Banducci. Other notes, I saw 3 cyclists today. One of which was recumbent cyclist.
