I had lab today in the morning. I planned for an indoor ride. That's what i did. There's a new training app called MyWhoosh. It's free to use, so I thought I'd give it a try. Getting the gadgets to pair was very easy. I installed the Garmin GPS to compare the metrics as the ride went on. I chose a map that had about 2000 feet of climbing and about 28-ish KM. I had no clue what I was getting into. The first 10 to 15 minutes felt sluggish. I was considering calling it quits just 30 minutes into the ride. The first 15 minutes goes through a village. Then it enters the mountain climb. About 45 minutes into the ride, I was feeling much better. The climbing legs woke up and so did the morale. I approached it somewhat like the Watopia Mountain Loop. Mostly out of the saddle on the steeper parts. In the saddle to recover. Pretty much a rinse an repeat process. The realism was good. Very similar to Zwift. I was having to use most of my smaller gears on the steeper slopes. I was looking at the metrics. I was trying to figure out where the route ends. I was guessing at the summit. I was going to stop around 1 hour into the ride, but I felt good and decided to continue. 1:15 hours passed and I was still climbing. I decided another 15 minutes. Around 1:30 hours into the ride, I noticed the slopes started to level off a bit. So, I knew the summit was in sight. I decided to set time aside and just get to the summit. When I got there, I was looking at the gradient graph. This was around 29-ish KM into the ride. After making the summit, I was waiting for the finish line. I kept going until the gradient graph flat-lined. about 1:45 hours into the ride, I decided to call it quits. I let the HR get down to 112 bpm and hopped off the trainer. Concentration was good. Minimal lapses, the morale got better as the ride progressed. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some hand numbness and knee soreness in the last 20 minutes of the ride. I stretched the legs, in and out of the saddle. The knee aches didn't escalate. Gear worked flawless. No outages or chain dropping. Nutrition was good. I drank the entire sport drink and about half a bottle of water. Other notes, I saw just one other cyclist on his way up as I was nearing completion. I took a video capture using OBS, pending verification if it completed successful.
