Very nice day to get out! It's in the low 50's. Winds from the South East. A good day to got to the Alpine Forest Summit. The legs felt pretty good to start. I wore arms, knees, head cap, and a long sleeve thermal jersey. I put a sheet of newspaper for good measure. I made it to the end of OTR in good time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, so I was on alert while climbing. After reaching Arosa, I was able to relax a bit. I had to tame the patience just a bit, otherwise the climb went as usual. I noticed that my Garmin watch wasn't reading the HR accurately. So, I inverted the watch and it worked much better. I was near maximum going over the top. I took a few moments to recover and then made my way around the backside. From there, I headed to the summit of Banducci. I took a few moments rest. I did good time to the summit. Shortly after, I headed back down the mountain. I was cautious descending off the Banducci Wall. There was some traffic mitigation and the wind was turbulent. I was riding the brakes most of the way down and staying to the right to let traffic by. After making it to OTR, I was able to relax. I pushed over Mariposa, and shut it down after getting back to the top of Weston. Concentration as good. I had some things to think about and the morale felt good. Balance and form was good. The saddle and cleat position feels good. Ailments were minimal. I think my mid/upper back was hinting on soreness, but by a slim margin and never escalated. Nutrition was good. I drank most of my sport drink, no water. Gear worked flawless. I installed the new baseplate on the left shoe and it had no problems today. No squeaking noises. Other notes, no cyclists today.
