The weather is raining. A no brainer for doing an indoor ride. I chose the Watopia Mountain Loop. I got my gear together and without delay, hopped on. The legs felt pretty good to start. The patience was in check. I was able to warm up for the first 10 minutes before the climb started. I had my Halo Replays going. I eased into the climb as it began. I was putting a bit more wattage over the bridge segment. I gaped my Halo Replay, that was a bonus for the morale. I tried to stay focused as the climb commenced. I was doing in and out of the saddle efforts for the entirety of the climb. I was keeping tabs on ailments. The knees cooperated today. The left inner glut continues to ail, but is subsiding very slowly. The HR was showing accurate readings. The trick was to invert the watch so that the sensor is on the palm side of the forearm. After reaching the tunnel, I kept the tempo steady, but didn't let up. I was ahead of my Halo Replay and I could tell that I was going to keep the gap to the summit. I was able to put over 200 watts over the last mile. I was doing between 2.5 to 3.2 W/kg for most of the climb. After reaching the summit, I think I was in the top third or so, I let up and recovered a bit. From there, I headed up the bonus climb. I kept the tempo slightly less than the first climb. I put it in the easy gear and did the grind to the summit. Then came the descent. Mostly recovery. I stretched and soft pedaled to the base. From there, I made my way around the island. I was minutes ahead of my Halo Replay, so I had incentive to keep the tempo going. I put in a modest dig through the sprint zone. Shortly after finishing the ride. I cooled down till the HR reached 112 BPM. Concentration was good. Some impatience that I kept in check. Balance and form was good. The cleats feel good. Ailments were minimal. The knees cooperated. The hands were sore and required changing positions on the handlebars. The right inner glut was the worst of it. It became noticeably sore while climbing. I had to adjust my position, stretch and adjust the tempo to keep it in check. It feels ok now. Gear held up perfect. Nutrition was good. Minimal hunger signs. I drank all my sport drink, no water. Other notes, there were about 11,000 riders when I hopped on.
