I decided to leave early today. I got up around 7AM. I had breakfast and then headed out after getting ready. I had a bit of sleepy head feelings, but not so bad. The weather is great at this time. It’s still on the warm side, but well within tolerances. The wind was very calm. Slightly from the North West. I made it to the summit of the descent in good time. The downhill was mostly soft pedaling. I put in two digs on the risers. After reaching the base, I headed back, no stopping. I had a bit of bio signs at this point, but I was able to hold until the end of the ride. The ascent went well. I was a bit impatient. I was getting pains in the left lower leg and right outer tendon soreness’s. Fortunately it subsided about 10 minutes later in the ride. The land marks came and went. I had a few things to think about and it made things go faster. I was feeling better after the second dip. I stopped once to take photos of the train passing below. Other than that, it was non-stop climbing. I kept my tempo going over the top. I was near max. After cresting the summit, I took a few moments to recover and then made my way back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good, but I was a bit impatient on the descent and first 5 to 10 minutes into the return climb. Balance and form were good. Nutrition was good. I had hints of GI soreness, so I diluted with water once in a while. Ailments were strange today. I had lower left leg soreness nearing the ankle. Then I had slight pains in the right tendons near the knee. As mentioned, they subsided about 10 minutes into the return climb. Gear held up perfectly. Other notes, I saw 3 or 4 cyclists today.
